What you'll bring to the team

Beluga Whale logo Oct 2026

The Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland is a world's first open-water sanctuary for beluga whales. It provides rescued whales with a more natural environment where they can experience the sights, sounds and conditions of the ocean while receiving expert care and monitoring. The sanctuary serves as a pioneering model for marine mammal welfare.

We're looking for a Commercial Diving Supervisor & Facilities Manager to lead our diving operations and oversee the maintenance, safety and performance of the sanctuary's facilities and marine infrastructure.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining commercial diving leadership, facilities management and operational planning. You'll be responsible for ensuring diving activities are carried out safely and in line with relevant regulations, while also overseeing maintenance programmes, contractor management and the upkeep of critical infrastructure across the site. From inspecting nets, moorings and marine equipment beneath the surface to coordinating repairs, managing projects and planning preventative maintenance, your work will play a vital role in supporting the long-term success of the sanctuary.

Working closely with animal care, operations and leadership teams, you'll help ensure the highest standards of safety, operational excellence and animal welfare are maintained across this unique marine environment.

This is a permanent, full-time role.
